Postdoctoral Researcher @ Zhejiang University
I am Freddy, a Postdoctoral Researcher at Zhejiang University. My research focus are (magneto)hydrodynamical cosmological simulations.
I am the lead developer of Meshless Finite Mass (MFM) as an alternative hydro-solver in the cosmological simulation code OpenGadget3, analyze its capabilities and study the impact of the hydrodynamical scheme in high-resolution simulations of structure formation.
In particular, I perform and use simulations to study subsonic turbulence, present in the intra-cluster medium (ICM) and explore multi-wavelength signatures of the turbulent ICM across X-ray, SZ, and radio.
I am member of the Center for cosmology and computational astrophysics Zhejiang University, in the research group of Renyue Cen.
Before, I was member of the Computational Astrophysics (CAST) group at the University-Observatory Munich, Ludwig-Maximilians-University.
My research was carried out within the ERC Advanced Group COMPLEX of Prof. Klaus Dolag funded by the European Research Council (ERC) under the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation program grant agreement ERC-2019-AdG 882679.
In addition, I was supported by the Excellence Cluster ORIGINS, funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation) under Germany's Excellence Strategy - EXC-2094 - 390783311.
